Transcription Factors Drive Opposite Relationships between Gene Age and Tissue Specificity in Male and Female Drosophila Gonads

چکیده

Abstract Evolutionarily young genes are usually preferentially expressed in the testis across species. Although it is known that older generally more broadly than younger genes, properties shaped this pattern unknown. Older may gain expression other tissues uniformly, or faster certain others. Using Drosophila gene data, we confirmed previous findings disproportionately biased and ovary biased. We found relationship between age stronger any tissue weakest testis. performed ATAC-seq on although of all ages likely to have open promoter chromatin ovary, alone does not explain bias genes. Instead, upstream transcription factor (TF) highly predictive but In TF chromatin, whereas similarly influenced by both chromatin. propose uniquely able express controlled relatively few TFs, with partners peak most ovary. The allows widespread baseline unresponsive regulatory changes, transcriptome responsive trans-regulation has a higher ceiling for expression.

proficiency level and factors fostering reticence in efl learners

according to cheng (1999), in recent esl/efl literature, asian (especially east asian) learners of english as a foreign/second language have been arguably reported as reticent and passive learners. the most common allegations are that these students are reluctant to participate in classroom discourse; they are unwilling to give responses; they do not ask questions; and they are passive and over...

20-hydroxyecdysone stimulates tissue-specific yolk-protein gene transcription in both male and female Drosophila.

The yolk polypeptides of Drosophila are normally synthesized in the fat body and ovarian follicle cells of adult females. In response to 20-hydroxyecdysone males synthesize yolk polypeptides. The actual level of yolk polypeptides synthesized in males is not always a direct reflection of the YP-transcripts present. Initially YP-transcripts are efficiently translated into polypeptides whereas lat...

The Dazh gene is expressed in male and female embryonic gonads before germ cell sex differentiation.

The autosomal homologs of the human Y-chromosomal DAZ gene (DAZH and Dazh in human and mouse, respectively) are strong candidate for Azoospermia factor and encode a testis specific RNA-binding proteins. We studied the expression pattern of the mouse Dazh during embryonic development by using Northern-blotting of developing gonads. In the mouse, we have detected 3.5 kb and 4.5 kb transcripts in ...

The DAZL1 gene is expressed in human male and female embryonic gonads before meiosis.

The human DAZL1 gene (known also as DAZH or DAZLA) is the autosomal homologue of the Y-chromosomal DAZ gene which has been found to be deleted in azoospermic males. Evidence suggests that the role of DAZL1 may not be restricted to spermatogenesis, but may include oogenesis as well. In order to study the function of human DAZL1 gene in the ovary, we observed its expression pattern during embryon...
